Separate the number tiles, operator tiles, and the equivalence tiles into three groups. Turn all of the number tiles and operator tiles face down at the side of the board, or place them into separate containers, and shuffle. Draw from the number pile for first play. The player who draws the highest number goes first. Return the exposed numbers to their piles and reshuffle. Each player then draws seven number and two operator tiles and places them in his or her rack.
